Original (restored) Fender Stratocaster Neck, 1963. This is an original FEB 1963 Strat neck, which has been refinished, refretted and expertly restored by Dan Shinn at Lays Music in Akron, Ohio. Original Fender vintage finishing techniques using nitrocellulose lacquer, followed by a very, very gentle aging or relicing, were employed. No sanding or fake wear on the back of the neck. The included tuners are original Kluson single line from 1963. Original ferrules, string tree, and screws. The Original Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard radius is 7.25. Period correct waterslide decal, and a original stamped neck date from the factory of FEB63B, indicating it is one of the standard necks of B width. Exact dimensions are on a separate sheet, photo 2. Note to players: The neck is not a baseball bat, and the slim profile makes it easy to play, especially for those who like to wrap their thumb over the top (like Jimmy Page, or Hendrix). This neck is straight, and the truss rod works perfectly, in or out, to fine tune it. This neck is ready to install on your stratocaster vintage restoration or custom shop 4-bolt body. Frets are vintage sized (narrow), but with plenty of meat on them for bends and blues playing. The pictures tell the story, this is a great strat neck, ready to play. However, if you look at it microscopicallythere is a worn patch in finish on headstock near low E restored cigarette burn! And a couple of light fingernail grooves above the first fret. Light finish checking and light areas of wear. I played the neck for several years (living room) on my personal custom shop 63 strat, but didnt wear it out. It is straight, true, and plays in tune. These original Fender necks in good condition are getting hard to find- reverb, Eddie-vegas, all the usual sources are drying up, so grab a quality vintage neck while you can.
