Fender 62 Stratocaster US Vintage Reissue Neck. No date penciled in on this one. My best guess would be early to mid 1980s. I suspect p enciling in a nice early date seems to be a common practice among 1980s reissue Strat necks. Many of the “paper tag” equipped necks were not dated so there’s ample opportunity to fill in your own date, spray a little clear lacquer over it, and presto! First year pencil date! There was no consistent place or type size or location for neck dates on early to mid 1980s Fender necks, if they were added at all. This neck was left exactly as it left the factory. The undated paper tag on the neck heel is a detail seen on Fender necks starting in 1982 and right through the late 1980s. Check out the gorgeous wood grain figuring on the rosewood fretboard. Frets and fretboard do not look as worn as the back of the neck would suggest. My guess is that finish was sanded off the back of the neck to get that worn feel. Last picture is wear at the 4th 5th and 6th frets. Very little “trenching” of the fingerboard is visible. Nut Width 1.66. Neck Thickness at 1st fret. Fender decal is a bit wrinkled, but intact. Early’62 Reissues did not have their decals finished over at the factory. “Contour Body” decal is there, but the print is worn off. The neck in the pictures is the actual neck you will receive.
