Maple w/ rosewood fingerboard. 22 medium jumbo frets. American Fender “Classic Gear” tuning machines. Tinted maple w/ dark rosewood fingerboard. Truss rod functions properly. Light to moderate fret wear. Plenty of life left. The original owner replaced the Fender American Standard tuners with vintage Gotoh tuners. In doing so, he drilled the holes for the mounting screws too small and the wood cracked around some of them. These cracks are very small do not go all the way through the headstock. I removed those tuners and injected. Glue into the cracks and into the screw holes. I then replaced those tuners with brand new Fender American. Performer “Classic Gear” tuning machines. These tuners have two mounting posts on the back and drop. Right into the factory mounting holes. They are then secured with a washer and nut on the front of. The headstock, the same as Fender’s modern tuners. There is now no more pressure applied to the badly. Drilled holes, so the cracks won’t get any worse. The price is reduced accordingly. I’m retiring and in the process of thinning the heard. This was actually my. Favorite neck but, I got a new American Pro II Strat for Christmas and that’s the one I chose to keep.
